Pool Policies and Safety Procedures

The YMCA of Cumberland is committed to keeping you and your family safe in and around the pool. Patron safety and drowning prevention are of utmost importance, therefore our policies and procedures have been strategically developed using the aquatic safety guidelines recommended by the Lifesaving Society and YMCA Canada.

Children under the age of 7 must be accompanied in the water by an adult
18 + years of age. Accompaniment is defined as being within arm’s reach of an
adult with a maximum ratio of 1 adult: 2 children.

Children under age 3, or who are not toilet trained, are required to wear a swim diaper. These are available at the front desk for purchase, in case of need.
